"Just A Moment" By Rev. Garry H. Fricker

Rev. Garry H. FrickerGarry Fricker graduated from Western Pentecostal Bible College in 1963 and entered the full time Pastoral ministry within days.  Giscome, a small community east of Prince George, B. C. was his first Church.  He married Jean Ann and in the following years welcomed three daughters and a son.  Garry and Jean pastored churches in Campbell River, Victoria, Prince George, Coquitlam all in British Columbia as well as serving 9 years as missionaries in Argentina and 2 years with a Spanish congregation in Toronto.  During the time of ministry in Argentina, they served as Pastors and Church planters.  During the last 4 years there, the country was in a turmoil of a terrorist war.  Garry introduced a night Bible School program that helped to establish a foundation for lay ministries to develop into Pastoral ministries.  During the Revival in Argentina in the early 1990’s, many of these students became full time Pastors giving oversight to growing and vibrant congregations.

‘Just A Moment’ is a reflection of the learning experiences of Garry and Jean, both in Canada and abroad, as God provided and protected in difficult situations.

Foreword:

We’re moving in an age of constant technical advancements.  Each new discovery is intended to give us more ‘free’ time to relax and ‘smell the roses.’  However, we are finding it increasingly more difficult to do the things that we really want to do.  “Just A Moment” is intended to give us all a few minutes of Biblical preparation for the day as well as to present a challenge to grow in our confidence and trust in an Awesome God.

Just A Moment by Rev. Garry Fricker“Just A Moment” is a compilation of Editorial portions that were used for my Church Bulletin over a number of years.  They were designed to coincide with the Sermon of the day to put in writing some of the things that were being said from the pulpit.  If you could imagine a summary of a sermon presentation written on one page you will discover these to be a life strengthening resource for your daily experience.  Some of the articles also summarize experiences that many Pastors encounter in the course of ministry in a needy world.  I have had the opportunity to be a part of what God has been doing in the wonderful country of Argentina as well as Pastoral ministry in Canada.  Forty-three years of serving the Lord has unquestionably left a great impression upon my own life.  I trust that is obvious through many of the daily readings.  God has been good to us in providing needs, in granting us guidance and wisdom for a variety of experiences, for health and strength and for the privilege of being His representative in various parts of the World.  No question about it… God is good!

Thanks to all who had a part in supporting our ministry and ‘enduring’ some sermons that were designed to teach, encourage, sometimes reprove and always to be what the Lord wanted to say.

Let your heart be blessed as you peruse the passages and the themes each day.  May you also find the spiritual food that the Word of God was designed to give to those who would hunger and thirst after righteousness.
